Strong winds are expected in parts of the country along with thundery rain by this afternoon, the Qatar Met department has said.
Winds will blow at a speed of less than 5 knots at first, becoming northwesterly-northeasterly later with speeds of 5-15 knots and reaching a high of 30 knots in some places during thundershowers, according to the weather report.
There is no warning for offshore areas today.
The detailed forecast for inshore areas says it will be misty in some places in the early hours, followed by relatively hot daytime conditions with local cloud formation. There is a chance of thundery rain in some areas by the afternoon.
Fine conditions are expected offshore along with some clouds occasionally.
The maximum temperature today is expected to be 37C in Abu Samra, 35C in Doha and 34C in Al Khor.
Yesterday, a maximum temperature of 38C was recorded in Sheehaniya, Batna, Karana and Jumayliyah, followed by 37C in Abu Hamour and Ghuwairiyah, and 35C in Doha (airport area), the Qatar University area and Abu Samra.
