Information regarding the weather will be provided through electronic panels on a number of main streets and highways in different parts of the country, the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) has announced.
The authority said in a statement Tuesday that it is co-operating with the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) in providing the weather information as part of its efforts to keep up with global standards in the field of meteorology.
QCAA said road users will be able to know about the weather and recorded temperatures and humidity rates and weather warnings in Arabic and English, according to the special daily reports issued by the QCAA Meteorological Department, which are updated and monitored around the clock.
QCAA pays particular attention to meteorology, providing it with the necessary support both in terms of advanced technologies and devices or expertise and specialised cadres to achieve more quality and to keep abreast of all developments in this area.
This reflects the authority's belief in the essential role played by meteorology in various economic activities and areas of daily life, in the form of reports issued by the authorities responsible for air traffic, air navigation, ports and maritime navigation, and all other government agencies and private entities in the country whose activity is affected by weather.
QCAA recently launched the meteorological application "Q Weather", which is a new digital platform for all weather information in Qatar, in addition to many other distinctive services included in the daily weather reports covering all cities and regions of Qatar, and the monthly reports and weather conditions in most important cities of the world.
