QIC first in Mena region to integrate ‘WhatsApp Business’

Leading flagship insurer, Qatar Insurance, is the first in the Mena region to integrate WhatsApp Business for communications, taking customer communications to a completely new level of engagement.
Through this integration, QIC aims at building stronger connection with customers, making communications easier, swifter, and more personalised. For any queries related to insurance or motor claims, customers can simply send a WhatsApp message to 50000742.
Qatar Insurance, in collaboration with Infobip, has successfully rolled out the integration of WhatsApp Business with its homegrown IT platform Anoud, marking yet another milestone in its journey towards process automation and digitalisation.
The integration facilitates the insurer to leverage key features of WhatsApp Business, namely, its popularity, ability to support multimedia communications through transfer of files such as photos and documents, among others, while hosting real time B2C conversations.
QIC will continue to use WhatsApp Business as a key customer communication channel to enhance ways of engaging with customers and enriching overall customer xperience.
Simultaneously, the App will be used for marketing QIC’s retail product offerings and services.
Customers can now send a WhatsApp message to 50000742 for any queries related to QIC’s insurance products and services. It can even facilitate in filing a motor claim after an accident.
QIC WhatsApp profile displays a green badge that ensures privacy through end-to-end encryption. This instills a sense of assurance, that all customer communication is safe and secure.
QIC deputy CEO Fahad al-Suwaidi said, “A key aspect of our strategy is to continuously strive to expand our customer reach to build and nurture relationship with customers. With a very high smartphone penetration rate, I am confident that WhatsApp Business platform has the capability to enhance the way we interact with our customers.

He added: “The integration of WhatsApp Business into our operating module will add more impetus to customer interaction, making it more impactful.
