Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) will extend the working hours of all its on-duty health centres, during weekends and official holidays in Qatar.
The new official working hours will be nonstop from 7am to 11pm starting November 1, it was announced Sunday.
Currently on weekends and official holidays, these health centres work in two shifts, from 7am - 2pm and 4pm -11pm.
PHCC has also announced that the services included during the new working hours are general medicine, radiology, laboratory, pharmacy, and nursing services, and will be provided through the following 17 on-duty health centres:
Airport; West Bay; Umm Ghuwailina; Omar Bin Khatab; Al Wakra, Rawadat Al Khail; Madinat Khalifah; Al Khor; Al Shamal; Umm Slal; Labaib; AbuBaker Al Siddiq; Mesaimeer; Al Rayyan; Al Sheehaniya; Muaither and Al Jumailiya.
This expansion of working hours during weekends is considered an addition to other similar efforts and services provided by PHCC to ease patient access. PHCC also provides 24-hours ‘Urgent Care Services’ in six health centres: Rawdat Al Khail; Ghrrafat Al Rayyan; Al Kaaban; Al Sheehaniya; Al Shamal and Abu Baker Al Siddiq.
PHCC is the main provider of primary healthcare in Qatar through 27 health centres that covers all areas of Qatar. These health centres provide an integrated patient-focus healthcare services that addresses all current and future health requirements of all patients in accordance with the National Health Strategy in Qatar.
