Some 11,076 abandoned vehicles have been removed from different parts of the country since the start of the year, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment has said in a statement.
Quoting an official, the statement said that the Joint Committee for Removing Abandoned Vehicles held its regular meeting, headed by Brigadier Ali Salman al-Mohannadi. The meeting was attended by Saleh Hassan al-Kuwari, deputy chairman, members of the committee Marzouq Mubarak al-Misifri, Mohamed Faraj al-Kubaisi and Mohamed Sultan al-Shahwani, in addition to officers from the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya).
Al-Mohannadi, chairman of the committee, commended the efforts made to remove abandoned cars across the country and further stressed the need to implement the public hygiene law.
On his part, al-Misfiri said that the number of abandoned vehicles removed across Qatar was 11,076 since the start of 2019. Work is under way to remove the remaining such vehicles from different municipalities until the menace is completely eradicated from main streets and roads around the country.
