The Qatari Businesswomen Association (QBWA) kicked off its study tour in Germany from October 13 to 19 under the theme ‘Young Women Programme’, it was announced Saturday.
The activity, which is part of the association’s ‘Young Ambassadors Programme’, was an offshoot of a memorandum of understanding between QBWA and the German Arab Women Business Leaders’ (GAWBL).
The new initiative developed by QBWA aims to engage and work with young women in Qatar and create new opportunities for them to grow and reach their full potentials in support of Qatar National Vision 2030.
As part of the QBWA Young Ambassadors Programme, the study tour will allow a number of young women from Qatar to explore Germany’s high-end business and educational landscape, to learn from each other, grow together, and strengthen the joint vision to create a better future.
The exclusive study tour will set the benchmark for impactful exchange by capacity building and training, self-development, sharing best practices, and mutual learning on sustainable human development that will empower young women through partnership, increased connectivity, innovation, and collaboration.
QBWA vice chairwoman Aisha Alfardan said, “We are very excited to launch this programme this year, and we are keen to work with young female leaders, incorporate their ideas, and create different opportunities for them to grow and reach their full potential.
“This study tour is a very important bilateral project and we thank ambassador Hans-Udo Muzel and his spouse, QBWA honorary member Lilian Muzel, who extended their full support to this programme, our esteemed partners in Germany, and our sponsors both in Qatar and Germany for their generous support.”
Underlining Germany’s full support and special commitment to the initiative, Muzel said: “Qatar is leading a progressive society development in the Arab world, especially when it comes to empowering women, particularly female entrepreneurs through education, training, and active participation in the nation’s development.
“In the economic field, we can look back at an extremely successful and impressive cooperation of our countries. The ‘Young Women Programme’ study tour in Germany is being held in close co-operation with the Qatar and German embassies and the German Federal Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and sponsored by QBWA, Strategic Partner Alfardan Group Holding, and official airline partner Qatar Airways.
