Qatar General Organisation for Standardisation and Metrology (QGOSM), participated in the first meeting of the GCC Standardisation Organisation (GSO) in the Omani capital Muscat.
Chairman of QGOSM, Engineer Mohamed bin Saud al-Musallam headed Qatar’s delegation to the meeting.
The meeting discussed the results of the meeting of the team of specialists that preceded the meeting of the organisation, on the internal regulations of the Committee of Standardisation of the GCC states. It also reviewed the draft regulation prepared by the team of specialists.
The meeting agreed to submit the draft regulations to the ministerial committee in charge of the standardisation affairs for approval.

Qatar condemns attack in Iraq

Qatar has strongly condemned the attack that took place in northeast Iraq’s Diyala, leaving a number of people killed and injured.
In a statement yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar’s firm stance rejecting violence and terrorism regardless of their motives and reasons.
The statement expressed Qatar’s condolences to the families of victims, and to government and people of Iraq, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

TAMM Volunteer Network holds awareness lecture
The TAMM Volunteer Network has organised an awareness lecture entitled “Psychology of Volunteering”, as part of its programme to develop volunteer work and support youth to promote social entrepreneurship.
The lecture, organised in conjunction with World Mental Health Day 2019, enables participants to learn more about the psychology of the volunteer in terms of understanding the psychological aspect of volunteering and its components and the impact of volunteering in improving the mental health of individuals and communities.
Dr Amani Salama, a psychologist, explained that the aim of the lecture is to introduce the volunteers to the positive aspects of volunteering in the field of mental health and society and how volunteer work is used as a means to foster individual and collective effort, as well as to acquaint them with the latest ways of using volunteerism in the psychological treatment of individuals and the advancement of their mental health efficiency. – QNA
