Ooredoo has announced that it is acting as the official sponsor for a play being presented by the Centre for Empowerment and Welfare of the Elderly, under the umbrella of Qatar Foundation for Social Work.
The play, titled Tales of My Grandfather, is being presented at Mall of Qatar to celebrate International Day of Older Persons over two days, until today. It is open to the public for free.
Tales of My Grandfather’ is intended “to honour our senior citizens and share with the younger generations the contribution of their elders to our society”, Ooredoo has said in a statement. Manar Khalifa al-Muraikhi, director of PR and Corporate Communications at Ooredoo, said of the sponsorship: “Supporting events that benefit our communities is of paramount importance to us, as is encouraging community cohesion.
“We’re delighted to be sponsoring such a worthwhile event and look forward to sharing International Day of Older Persons with everyone – from the newest members of our society to our respected elders.”
