Qatar Chamber has participated in the 45th meeting of the Committee of Executive Leadership of the Federation of GCC Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FGCCI), hosted by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Muscat.
The meeting discussed the interim objectives and the general strategy of the federation, studied the internal regulations and rules, including the proposed amendments to the internal and external rules of the federation, and addressed the proposed amendments to the financial regulations and accounting regulations of the federation and restructuring the general secretariat of the FGCCI.
During the meeting, Qatar Chamber expressed its views on the issues and affirmed its readiness to co-operate with the secretariat of the federation and the member states in providing all forms of support and cooperation to serve the private sector and achieve sustainable Gulf economic citizenship.
Qatar Chamber director-general Saleh bin Hamad al-Sharqi said the chamber expressed its readiness to host the next meeting of the FGCCI Committee of Executive Leadership.
Al-Sharqi stressed on the chamber’s keenness to enhance co-operation ties between Gulf chambers to enhance economic integration between the GCC countries.
He said the regular FGCCI meetings include the main tasks of the committee, such as activating its role in the work programme of the general secretariat, the preparation of topics to be presented to the committee of the federation, the follow-up of decisions in co-ordination with the secretary general, the approval of the annual work programme, and the recommendation of the draft budget as well as the recommendation of the final accounts.
