Al Khaliji Commercial Bank (Al Khaliji) has underscored its support for initiatives that promote the growth and development of investor relations in the financial industry, according to a statement.
As part of its ongoing commitment to nationwide, industry-level knowledge exchange platforms for the financial industry, Al Khaliji sponsored the ‘10th Annual Investor Relations Conference’ as Executive Partner, the highest level of sponsorship for the conference.
Hosted by the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE), the conference gathered all QSE-listed companies and senior management cadres, and featured a series of discussions and debates around the evolution, role, and best practices of the investor relations discipline.
Al Khaliji Group CEO Fahad al-Khalifa said, “as Qatar’s next generation bank, Al Khaliji has been on the forefront of adopting latest best practices. This includes transparency to our shareholders and other stakeholders by providing best in class investor information.”
He added: “As part of this philosophy, we have continued to support initiatives such as the Investor Relations Conference, which provides an opportunity for practitioners and participants to exchange knowledge, adopt best practice, and further strengthen the connection between public companies and their stakeholders.
“The trust of our investors is paramount to pivoting our business and industry to broader horizons, as we continue to drive Qatar National Vision 2030’s ambitions towards a diversified economy and prosperous society. I congratulate the team at the Qatar Stock Exchange for hosting the conference and wish them success in all their initiatives.”
Group CFO Shabbir Barkat Ali said, “We are proud to be partaking in this flagship event and knowledge exchange platform for our industry, more so at a time when our financial landscape and ecosystem are being constantly disrupted and challenged at a pace far beyond the expectations of policymakers, decision makers and regulators.
“Today, it has become all more imperative for us to proactively drive and maintain open lines of communication with our stakeholders and shareholders. As our landscape grows ever more complex, transparency, accountability, and trust remain the central pillars of our long-term relationships with our investors.”
QSE CEO Rashid al-Mansoori opened the conference with an introductory speech, followed by several talks and panel discussions on communications, relationship management, and ecosystem dynamics for the investor relations discipline in Qatar and beyond.
The conference agenda tackled the measurement of investor relations programme effectiveness, disclosure challenges, corporate ESG (environmental, social and governance) and sustainability communications, factors affecting the promotion of the asset management industry in Qatar, the integration of IR (investor relations), PR and communication, the presentation of business models, equity stories and strategies for companies, and best practices for regular communication and quarterly calls. The conference boasted an impressive speaker and panel of CEOs, asset management and communications directors in leading Qatari listed companies.
