His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met on Monday with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and her accompanying delegation at the residence of Qatar's Permanent Mission to the United Nations, on the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
The meeting discussed the strategic relations between the two friendly countries and ways to develop them in economic and trade co-operation. The German Chancellor thanked the Amir for Qatar's investments in Germany.
The two sides also exchanged views on key international developments as well as the developments in the Middle East, particularly in Libya. The meeting was attended by the official delegation accompanying the Amir.
