Talabat and Carrefour have joined forces to allow customers to do their grocery shopping on the food delivery app.
“With Talabat being one of the most frequently-used apps in the region, this innovation drives further convenience for users in Qatar, making everyday life easier. Talabat’s partnership with Carrefour is also the first time a food delivery platform in the region has offered a complete grocery delivery option,” a press statement notes.
The new Talabat Grocery service is available as part of Talabat’s existing app, under a new filter card named ‘Grocery’.
Since the launch of Carrefour on Talabat, the platform has seen a growth in demand for different categories, including packaged snacks, fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as staple foods such as milk, eggs and bread, the statement points out.
Talabat Grocery users will benefit from the platform’s advanced network of delivery logistics, receiving their order of convenience groceries via Talabat Go drivers to their doorstep.
“Talabat has become a go-to food ordering and delivery solution in Qatar. Through our partnership with Carrefour, we aim to make life more convenient for customers in another way, by delivering a large variety of groceries to their doorsteps,” said Talabat Qatar managing director Francisco De Sousa.
“At Carrefour, we strive to deliver seamless shopping experiences, no matter how our customers choose to shop with us,” said Laurent Hausknecht, country head of Carrefour in Qatar.
“Talabat is a leader in food delivery, a space that we are working with them in other markets and therefore are pleased to be strengthening our relationship by extending the grocery service to include Qatar. With more purchases being made online than ever before, together we are adapting to this trend by giving customers easy access to a wide variety of high-quality products. We look forward to serving customers nationwide and taking our brand promise of creating great moments for everyone, every day to their doorstep.”
User experience lies at the heart of Talabat Grocery, and customers purchasing their shopping through the app will receive the same variety, quality and product freshness they have come to expect from Carrefour, the statement adds.
Users can also take advantage of the same promotions and discounts they would receive if shopping in-store. With over 2,500 Carrefour products listed on Talabat, customers in Qatar have a wide range of categories available to them. Categories include food items such as fruit and vegetables, dairy and eggs, and frozen and canned goods, alongside household goods and personal care items. A selection of Carrefour’s popular Food2Go meals is also available.
Talabat has also launched dedicated technological functionality to support grocery ordering. This ensures a “smooth and convenient ordering process” for customers. Besides, the company has invested in new logistical infrastructure to ensure that groceries can be delivered quickly and easily. The Talabat Grocery service is now available on the Talabat app and website.
