Qatar International Centre for Conciliation and Arbitration (Qicca) board member Dr Sheikh Thani bin Ali al-Thani received the title of ‘International Ambassador for Social Responsibility’ at a conference held recently in Kuwait.
The announcement of Sheikh Thani’s new position was made during the fourth Social Responsibility at Islamic Banks Conference, which was held under the theme ‘Banking Leadership and its Role in Boosting the Practice of Social Responsibility’.
Kuwait’s Al-Ahmadi Governor Sheikh Fawaz al-Khaled al-Sabah was also granted the title of ‘International Ambassador for Social Responsibility’.
Many other economic dignitaries from Arab countries were also honoured during the conference, which was attended by a large number of economic experts and bankers.
The conference, which was co-organised by the Arab Planning Institute, Regional Social Responsibility Network, was aimed at reviewing the best Islamic and international practices and experiments in the field of Islamic banking and its role in enhancing social responsibility.
