Much-anticipated AAB Open Invitational Volleyball Tournament 2019 has been launched on September 13 at the American School Doha (ASD).
On the occasion, players and their families were present to witness this event which is a collaboration of Fivba Doha and Liga OFW Organising Committee.
Josef Hernandez and Madel Mendez Castillo presented the 24 teams of men and women who paraded in stylish uniforms branded by Toyota Cars at the ASD Main Gym. These uniforms were effortlessly designed also by Josef Hernandez and supplied by Thread N Needles.
David Farmer, Athletic Director of ASD, gave the opening remarks and was grateful to everyone who participated. He acknowledged the sponsorship that was generously provided for number of years by Abdullah Abdulghani and Bros as well. Rassamunira Ramli, Corporate Communications and CSR Manager of AAB, also welcomed the crowd and emphasised the core values of AAB that they want to impart to the community through sponsoring sports events like this.
The event also highlighted the league’s mission to help our fellow OFWs here in Qatar. To achieve this mission, Fivba – Liga OFW has initiated to donate toiletries to our distressed kabayans currently residing in POLO-OWWA.
Elvis Manosca and Marciano Flores, leads of Fivba and Liga OFW, respectively, reiterated this mission and acknowledged the presence of Robert Villaranda, the POLO representative who was there to accept the donations. Villaranda, on behalf of POLO, thanked the Organising Committee and all who donated as well. The games will be held every Friday until November 1, 2019.
