Building on its mission of supplementing leadership capabilities of Qatari leaders, Qatar Leadership Centre (QLC) has welcomed its second batch of participants in the prestigious Executive Master’s in Leadership-Qatar (EML-Q) programme.
The event was held in the presence of HE Sheikh Dr Abdulla bin Ali al-Thani, board member and managing director of QLC. The programme is designed in partnership with Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business in Washington, DC.
The 28 participants, 18 male and 10 female students, are all alumni from the centre’s National Leadership Programmes. A joint committee composed of members from QLC and the McDonough School of Business selected candidates who demonstrated academic excellence in their studies and possessed a commitment to boosting their leadership skills and their personal development.
“Under the leadership of HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, the EML-Q programme saw great success in its first year, highlighting the incredible demand for this kind of specialised leadership education in Qatar. It is an unparalleled opportunity for leaders in top-tier organisations in the country to bolster their leadership capabilities through a world-class curriculum,” said Dr Ali J al-Kubaisi, acting managing director at QLC.
“This programme is the result of a harmonious partnership with a like-minded purveyor of leadership development knowledge in Georgetown University in Washington, DC and the centre’s tireless efforts to realise Qatar’s goals for human development through specially-designed programmes.”
Started in 2018, the EML-Q programme will see participants attend eight training courses in Qatar and a week-long residency at Georgetown University’s campus in Washington, DC, where they will have the chance to visit prestigious governmental and private institutions in addition to meeting influential American figures from the political and economic fields.
