The early preparations for the upcoming season of winter camping has revived sales at the shops dealing in the the necessary tools and equipment.
Local Arabic daily Arrayah has reported that the prices of such items are almost the same as in the previous years and in cases where is some increase, it is not much. Shop owners have been keen to make agreements with local manufacturers and workshops to produce some of the required items locally, especially the furniture for the tents, barbecue equipment and storage containers. 
The traders have also made direct contracts with suppliers from different countries. This has considerably lowered the prices that customers have to pay eventually. 
It is expected that because of these measures, the products will be of high quality and more suitable for local use. Demand is particularly high for camping tents of different sizes as they are lighter and easier to transport than portable cabins. Mohamed al-Obaidan, owner of a tents shop, said that campers tend to often buy three tents, especially those camping on the land sites and they prefer tents made in Pakistan for their durability and good quality. 
One of the tents is to be used for general storage purposes, another for rest and sleeping, and a third to receive visitors. “A good tent could be used for up to 10 years if used and stored properly,” he said. Ahmed Ghareeb, a salesman at a camping equipment shop, pointed out that his shop started to receive orders for gas ovens, barbecue equipment, desert fridges and other items of furniture with many people coming to inquire about the prices and the availability of the products. He stressed that prices are still reasonable with no considerable changes compared to the previous years.
Nayif al-Meer, owner of a camping necessities company, said that his company has been keen to manufacture, supply and import the best in the field to cater for the needs of the potential customers. He pointed out that there have been already contracts with Kuwaiti, Turkish and other suppliers to import the best quality products in the field.  Besides, the locally manufactured products are highly accepted by local campers due to their excellent quality and reasonable prices. 
“My customers can see, through computer-generated 3D graphics, their camp fully equipped and make the necessary changes until they are satisfied. This concept has been very successful with all customers,” he added.
