The cleanliness section of the Department of General Services Affairs in Al Daayen Municipality recently carried out a comprehensive campaign for pest control.
The campaign was mainly aimed at combating insects and rodents at various areas within the administrative limits of the municipality. Spraying and fogging were conducted at parks, streets and garbage containers during the evenings.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), the section officers addressed 7,698 sewage water removal requests and removed 32,356,150 gallons of wastewater in August.
Al Sheehaniya Municipality, represented by the cleanliness section of the Department of General Services Affairs, held a number of drives in various areas within the municipal limits in August. During the month, the department addressed 72 applications for insect and rodent control and 42 applications for manhole cleaning, a press statement by the MME said.
These were in addition to the services, provided for commercial establishments and residential complexes in the municipality.
