The Chinese, Italian, and Indian ambassadors have offered their congratulations on the unveiling of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 emblem on Tuesday.

Chinese ambassador Zhou Jian: “Congratulations to the stunning debut of the 2022 World Cup logo. It is an extraordinary design which also coincides with Chinese culture. It resembles a knot in looking, which implies unity in Chinese. It is also in the shape of 8, which in China is a number for prosperity and development. We heartily wish that the Qatar 2022 World Cup will be a gathering of unity and success, one that will bring more peace and development to the world.”

Italian ambassador Pasquale Salzano: “I would like to congratulate Qatar and the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy for successfully presenting the 2022 FIFA World Cup logo, which will be the emblem of the football tournament. I am very excited that also Italy took part in this worldwide celebration by projecting the logo on the iconic monument 'Arco della Pace' in Milan. This is indeed a successful achievement for Qatar on the way to Doha 2022, a very special moment that marks the great commitment of the country to deliver a memorable World Cup.”

Indian ambassador P Kumaran said: “We are excited at the unveiling of the 2022 FIFA World Cup logo. I am happy that a prominent building in Mumbai was chosen as one of the 20 locations for the launch.

“Qatar’s preparations for the World Cup and the development of the necessary infrastructure are moving ahead briskly. If past events are an indication, I have no doubt that the World Cup in Qatar will be an exemplary spectacle.

“The Indian community in Qatar wishes Qatar the best and is happy to extend all possible support to the Qatari authorities for the successful hosting of the World Cup.”
