The Shura Council will participate in the third World Parliamentary Forum on Sustainable Development, set to be held in Bali, Indonesia, on September 4-5, under the theme "Combating Inequality through Social and Financial Inclusion".

The Shura Council is represented by Council member Khalifa Bin Ali al-Hitmi.

The meeting will discuss the goals of sustainable development, climate change, ending violence and sustainable peace, inclusive inclusion and promoting inclusive and equitable development.

The Shura Council will also participate in the meeting of Standing Committee of Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) on Budget and Planning due to be held on September 3-5, in Baghdad.

The delegation of the Shura Council is headed by Council member Ibrahim bin Khalifa al-Nasr.

The meeting will discuss enhancing the efficiency and organisational capacity of the APA to achieve its goals and objectives set forth in its charter. This is done to emphasise the importance of the participation of all member parliaments in sharing the financial needs of the assembly and to ensure the principles of transparency, accountability and effective management of resources with regard to expenditure and budgeting the assembly.
