The Qatar Special Forces Parachuting team made a new achievement by winning the German International Paragliding Championship, which concluded on Sunday at Kassel Airport in Calden, Germany.

The event saw the participation of eight teams, where the Germans participated in six groups, the French in one group and the Qatari team with one group. The Qatari team achieved a new Asian record.

They scored the second jump 24 points as the highest Asian number and is new for Qatar where the result of the previous figure in the World Championship in Australia was 23 points.

The Qatari team tops the overall standings with 148 points, and the German team finished second with 128 points.

The Qatari team included Abdullah Ahmad al-Jamadi, Ghanem Khalifa al-Kubaisi, Abdullah Abdul-Khawar, Bilal Mohsen al-Hajaji, Salem Rashid al-Sunaid, Mohammed Mahmoud Shams, Khalifa Saleh al-Ali, Saad Salem al-Ali and Saeed Taleb al-Marri. -- QNA
