The Camel Racing Organising Committee has announced the rules and conditions governing the camel racing competitions at Al Sheehaniyah racetrack for the new season (2019-2020). The competitions will begin with the first local race on September 7.
Under the new season programme, the committee stressed that it would not allow violations of the rules governing the race for any reason, pointing out that the rules will be fully applied to all participants in order to organise a strong season free of stimulants and other tools.
It explained that among the most important conditions and instructions to be followed by the owners and participants is the examination of electric tools and stimulants for the top ten in the symbols runs, and the top five in the cash runs, as well as conducting a random examination of any suspected camel.
The organising committee stressed that all owners must apply the electric insulation on all the camels participating in races and festivals without exception.
This is for all participants, whether in open or public runs, it added.
In the handbook, the committee lists many instructions that owners and participants must abide by, particularly with regard to the rules and processes of registration as well as the participation of non-Qatari camels in the competitions. - QNA
