Almoez Ali struck in second-half stoppage time to give Al Duhail a heart-stopping 2-1 win over Qatar Sports Club in the QNB Stars League yesterday.
Al Duhail trailed by a 60th minute goal from Junior Kabananga but Yousef Msakni restored parity in the 88th minute to give Rui Faria’s men a lifeline.
Msakni profited from a lapse in concentration by Qatar SC goalkeeper Jassem Adel who failed to cleanly collect Edmilson’s shot from afar. Msakni made no mistake from close to equalise.
Almoez then scored the winning goal in the second minute of added time, unleashing a powerful grounder from the edge of the penalty area.
Al Duhail take on Al Arabi next while Qatar SC clash with Al Wakrah.
