The relative humidity is expected to increase in the country until the weekend and there is a chance of mist/fog formation in some areas, the Qatar Met department has said.
The weather office informed this through a post on social media on Tuesday.
The increase in relative humidity will be due to “a shift in the prevailing wind direction to easterly”, according to the forecast.
There is a chance of misty to foggy conditions in some places late at night and early in the morning during this period, causing the visibility to drop below 2km at times.
The temperature is also expected to drop, with the maximum ranging from 37C to 39C in Doha, the report states.
The Met department has urged people to be cautious during foggy conditions, advising them to follow latest updates through its official social media accounts.
Meanwhile, parts of the country experienced some rain on Tuesday, as had been forecast by the department. Satellite images showed local convective cloud development over some central and western areas, and thundershowers were later reported from the southwestern parts of the country along with strong dust-raising winds at times, according to weather updates.
Images and videos of the rain also did the rounds of social media on Tuesday.
Wednesday’s forecast says it will be misty in some places early in the morning, followed by a hot day and slightly dusty conditions at times. It will be humid by night.
Misty conditions are expected in offshore areas at first.
The maximum temperature is expected to be 41C on Wednesday in Abu Samra and 40C in Doha, Wakrah, Al Khor and Mesaieed.
Tuesday, a maximum of 45C was recorded in Jumayliyah, followed by 43C in Karana, Batna and Ghuwairiyah, 42C in Sheehaniya, 41C in Abu Hamour and Turayna, and 40C in Doha (airport area) and the Qatar University area.
