The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced a 12-hour temporary closure on westbound lanes of Al-Gharrafa Interchange underpass (known as Immigration Interchange) Friday. The lanes will be closed from midnight today to noon Friday.
The traffic change implemented in co-ordination with the General Directorate of Traffic is aimed at facilitating completion of upgrading works at the interchange.
During the closure, vehicles travelling westbound on Khalifa Street towards Dukhan will have to turn right towards Madinat Khalifa Street, take the third exit towards the left at the roundabout to get on Al Najda Street, than turn right towards Al Ruwais Street where they will need to take the second exit of the roundabout to get on Al-Ittihad bridge and than make a U-turn at the signal-controlled intersection to get back to Thani bin Jassim Street. The vehicles will have to then continue straight, take the right turn towards Al-Shamal Road than take right again at Al-Gharrafa Interchange to reach Al-Luqta Street as shown on the map.
Ashghal will install road signs advising motorists of the closure and requested all road users to abide by the speed limit and follow the road signs to ensure safety.
