To demonstrate its commitment to adopting new technologies aimed at providing its customers with convenient and cost-effective services, Doha Bank has forged a partnership with Habib Bank Limited (HBL), one of the leading commercial banks in Pakistan, to offer on-the-go remittance solutions to Pakistani expats in Qatar.
The new online service will enable Doha Bank customers to transfer money instantly to their HBL bank accounts. Through HBL’s IBFT (interbank funds transfer) facility in Pakistan, customers will also be able to remit money to their other Pakistani bank accounts in approximately one hour, in most instances.
To promote digital remittance amongst its customers, Doha Bank’s collaboration with HBL will give its Pakistani customers the access to remit money to Pakistan whenever and wherever they want by registering for international money transfer via Doha Bank’s mobile app and online banking portal.
Under Pakistan Remittance Initiative (PRI), Doha Bank’s Pakistani customers will enjoy free-of-charge service on remittances to Pakistan with value over $200. For remittances below $200 or multiple same day remittances, charges will apply as per PRI conditions.
The partnership with HBL is set to benefit the Pakistani Community in Qatar by providing them with the right products and services, to help them meet their banking needs in Pakistan and remit money to their home country, in a quick and convenient way.
“We are very pleased to be partners with Habib Bank Limited. HBL’s commitment to providing a reliable and compliant process that complements our competitive strength makes them an excellent partner to work with on developing and expanding our cross-border remittance services. Doha Bank is committed to bringing forth the latest technologies to our customers, which makes banking simple, convenient and cost effective for them,” said Doha Bank CEO Dr R Seetharaman.
Doha Bank offers a secure, fast, and easy way of sending money via Doha Bank mobile app and online banking portal to over 200 countries and direct online remittances to India, Sri Lanka, Lebanon, the Philippines, Nepal, and now Pakistan in a cost-effective manner.
