His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani attended the state funeral of Tunisian president Beji Caid Essebsi, held at the Carthage Palace in Tunis Saturday.
The Amir offered his condolences to the interim President Mohamed al-Nasser, Prime Minister Youssef Chahed, senior government officials, as well as the family of the late president.

The funeral was attended by a number of heads of state and government representatives, heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Tunisia and leaders of the regional and international organisations.
The Amir was accompanied by an official delegation.
Earlier upon his arrival at the Carthage International Airport in the Tunisian capital, the Amir was welcomed by Prime Minister Youssef Chahed, Governor of Tunis City Shazli Boualak, a number of Tunisian officials as well as Qatar's ambassador to Tunisia Nasser bin Saad al-Humaidi, a number of officials and members of the Qatari embassy.
His Highness the Amir left Tunis Saturday evening after attending the funeral. Essebsi died aged 92 on Thursday.
