Russia and Hungary will host the 2025 and 2027 world Aquatics championships each 10 years after previously holding the event, global governing body FINA said Sunday.

Kazan in Russia will host again after the 2015 edition was held with a temporary pool constructed inside a football stadium.

Budapest is to host again after 2017 as Hungary continues its attempt to bring major sporting events to the country.

On Sunday the swimming portion of the current worlds began in Gwangju, South Korea, and continues to July 28.

The 2021 edition had already been awarded to Fukuoka, Japan, which hosts again after 2001 and 2023 given to Doha in Qatar for the first time.
