Al Rayyan Municipality’s health control section carried out 1,192 inspection tours at various food establishments there in June. The campaigns resulted in the issuance of eight violation reports against different outlets.
In addition, 10 violations were resolved through reconciliation with the violators after payment of the stipulated fines, while three other reports were referred to the security departments concerned for necessary legal procedures, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment said in a statement.
Further, one violating shop was shut down and 40 food samples were sent to the central laboratory for examination.
Meanwhile, veterinarians ordered the destruction of 30 whole sheep carcasses for not complying with health standards during the slaughtering process. The veterinarians also supervised the slaughtering of 4,700 heads of livestock, the statement added.
