Al Sadd kicked off their overseas camp with the first training session in Olot, Spain on Monday. The camp is set to last until the 29th of July.
The squad had earlier reached Barcelona on Sunday evening before travelling to the Hotel Vall de Bas in Olot. The team trained on Monday under the watchful eyes of new head coach Xavi Hernandez, who took charge for the first time.
The allocated training pitch is situated just five minutes away from the team hotel. The team worked on physical training, looking to get in shape ahead of a gruelling new season. The Qatari international players joined the team for the training session after a break, in addition to the trio of Gabi, Nam Tae-hee and Jung Woo-young. Fitness coach Ivan Torres focused on helping the players recover from fatigue and jet lag, before moving on to movement exercises. Later, the players trained with the ball, working on quick two-touch play. Al Sadd are now scheduled to intensify their training starting from Wednesday, when they will hold two sessions per day.

Al Shahania seek stability ahead of new season

Al Shahania have stepped up their pre-season training under coach Jose Murcia as the QNB Stars League outfit continue to get match fit ahead of the new season. The squad is undergoing daily training sessions which kicked off at the start of this month.
Murcia and his squad are set to leave for a pre-season training camp in Turkey from where the team will return to Doha after playing four friendly matches. Last season, Al Shahania delivered brave performances and, in the coming months, the young side will be aiming for consistency in their results.
The club management is aware of the challenges in the new season and has made adequate preparations to allow the side to gel well. Al Shahania have retained the services of Rebin Sulaka of Iraq, Alvaro Perez of Spain and Kesse Amangoua of Ivory Coast. However, they are yet to find a replacement for Luciano Vazquez of Argentina.
It is worth mentioning that Al Shahania finished last season in seventh place with 27 points after posting seven wins and six draws against nine defeats.
