Huawei has announced that its Mate 20 X 5G has finally arrived in Qatar, making its official debut exclusively through Vodafone Qatar, with which the official market roll-out comes after months of product and network testing.
This marks the “start of the 5G era”, the company has said in a statement.
The Huawei Mate 20 X 5G is now available for pre-order for QR3,699.
Consumers who pre-order the device from today until July 17 will receive a gift, a Huawei Watch GT – the “best-selling Huawei smartwatch worldwide” – in addition to offers from Vodafone Qatar.
Equipped with Huawei’s 5G multi-mode terminal chips, the “world’s first 7nm Balong 5000 and ultimate performer, the Kirin 980, boasts of excellent 5G connectivity while retaining the ability to down shift to 4G, 3G, and 2G, as well as other network systems”, the statement notes.
These include the SA (Standalone, 5G independent network) and NSA (Non Standalone, 5G non-independent networking), making it “the best ‘real 5G network’ phone”.
Customers who pre-order the device will be eligible for a 50% discount, valid for 12 months, when signing up for a Vodafone Red Me postpaid plan, giving them a total savings of QR3,300.

The Mate 20 X 5G introduces Huawei’s newly-upgraded EMUI 9.1 operating system, coupled with a 7.2” full screen and a Leica Matrix multi-focus imaging system.
The upgraded EMUI 9.1 system’s outstanding AI (artificial intelligence) image processing complements the triple Leica camera by optimising colour, saturation, white balance, contrast and picture sharpness according to the scene.
With the Mate 20 X 5G, any user can create visually impactful photos without having to adjust settings.
The device also delivers “exceptional battery life, super-fast charging and cooling capabilities, enabling it to stay cool and responsive even while running graphically-intensive media and games at high settings, ensuring continuous, stable and fast performance”, the statement adds.
