The Cyber Security Centre at the Ministry of Interior (MoI), the Security Committee at the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) and Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA) have signed an agreement with Cisco International for co-operation and training in cybersecurity.
The agreement was signed in a bid to provide well-qualified personnel who are eligible to deal with technological challenges, especially in the cybersecurity field, the MoI said in a statement Sunday.
HE Major General Saad bin Jassim al-Khulaifi, Director of Public Security; Major General Abdul Azeez bin Faisal al-Thani, deputy chairman of the Security Committee at the SC; Dr Khalid al-Horr, CEO of QFBA; Shin Herati, general manager of Cisco International - Qatar, and the directors of various MoI departments were present at the agreement-signing ceremony.
HE Major General al-Khulaifi stressed the importance of strengthening the country’s cybersecurity system and enabling it to respond to various electronic attacks.
Major Othman Salem al-Hamoud, assistant director of the MoI's Cyber Security Centre, said the country is interested in ensuring the presence of well-qualified personnel who are able to deal with various aspects of modern technology, especially in the field of cybersecurity.
