Qatar has expressed great satisfaction at the agreement between the Transitional Military Council and the Forces of the Declaration of Freedom and Change in the brotherly Sudan.
In a statement on Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed Qatar's welcome for the formation of a three-year sovereign council and the formation of a civilian government of competencies, which Qatar hopes would ensure real representation of the Sudanese people in their various directions in addition to the continued functioning of the state organs.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs commended the constructive efforts and expressed its deep gratitude and appreciation to the African Union which played a pivotal role in bridging the gap between the Sudanese parties.
The ministry said Qatar hopes the agreement would realise the aspirations of the brotherly Sudanese people and their just demands for freedom, peace and justice, stressing Qatar's firm position in support of the unity, stability and sovereignty of Sudan.
