His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met Wednesday evening at Al Bahr Palace with US Senators Lindsey Graham and Chris Van Hollen, and the accompanying US Congress delegation.
During the visit they greeted His Highness the Amir and reviewed the friendly bilateral ties and strategic co-operation between Qatar and the US in different fields. They thanked the Amir for the role of Al Udeid airbase and the hosting of more US forces. There was also an exchange of views on the latest regional and international developments, particularly Palestine and Afghanistan. They praised Qatar's role in peace mediation efforts and hosting the intra-Afghan dialogue in Doha. They also praised the humanitarian aid Qatar provides to the people of Gaza in light of the difficult conditions they face under the siege.
