His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani sent yesterday cables of congratulations to the Governor General of Canada, Julie Payette, on Canada Day. HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani sent a similar cable to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Message from Rwanda president

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani has received a written message from the President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, pertaining to bilateral relations and means of enhancing them.
The message was received by HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani during a meeting yesterday with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Co-operation of Rwanda, Richard Sezibera, who is on a visit to Qatar.

Qatar condemns Afghan explosion

Qatar has strongly condemned and denounced the explosion which targeted the centre of the Afghan capital Kabul, causing deaths and dozens of injuries.
In a statement yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar’s firm stance rejecting violence and terrorism, regardless of their motives and reasons.

NHRC receives Korean delegation
Secretary-General of the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC), Mariam bint Abdullah al-Attiyah yesterday met a delegation from the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission of the Republic of Korea, currently visiting Qatar. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed areas of co-operation in issues of mutual concern.
The NHRC Secretary-General explained the delegation the goals and mission of the National Human Rights Committee, its legal nature and mechanisms of work.

High school exam results today
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education will announce the high school results today.
The results can be viewed on https://nateeja.edu.gov.qa, after being approved by HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali al-Hammadi.
There are 11,329 students - 5,788 boys and 5,541 girls - who took the second semester exams for the academic year 2018/2019 from June 10-23 in 61 testing centres inside and outside Doha, 32 of which were for boys and 29 for girls.
