Aamal subsidiary Ebn Sina Medical recently signed a new agreement with the Italian company, GPI Group, to implement automation for the Ebn Sina Medical warehouse, where medications will be “properly stored, priced and dispensed automatically with very high speed and accuracy”.
The robot, with its size of around 250 sq m will be able to accommodate more than 155,000 packs of medicines and dispense more than 25,000 packs per day according to the received orders. This robot will guarantee the maximum storage capacity in a reasonably small area at the warehouse, with an outstanding speed for loading and dispensing of medications.
This is the second pilot project that Ebn Sina Medical collaborates with its principal supplier, the GPI Group, after the successful automation of Ebn Sina Pharmacy in City Center Doha, with the implementation of GPI pioneering robotic technology for the first time in a private pharmacy in Qatar.
Moreover, Ebn Sina Medical, being the exclusive distributor of GPI Company, is promoting GPI technology to all healthcare service providers in the local market.
In the presence of the Italian ambassador Pasquale Salzano, Aamal Company chairman Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al-Thani and Fabio Rossi, GPI’s international sales director, signed the agreement for the warehouse automation.
Sheikh Faisal said, “The warehouse automation will be an important enhancement of our operations, as we continue to keep up with the latest technological advancements, and support our subsidiaries to optimise their performance. At Aamal, we are keen to bring the latest products and solutions to the market, in order to be a pioneer in the market and partner with blue-chip companies such as GPI.”
Sherif Shehata, general manager, Ebn Sina Medical said, “It’s my pleasure to sign our second co-operation agreement with the GPI Group, our Italian healthcare partner. The warehouse automation should have a significant positive impact on our operations, and we are always on the lookout for such agreements that bring improvement to our processes. People can come and see how this robot works and its benefits, which we hope will be a model that all other healthcare providers would follow.”
Rossi said, “It is our pleasure to expand our operations in the Qatari market through the leading Ebn Sina Medical Company, and we are also glad to contribute to enhancing the automation of the medical sector in Qatar. We look forward to further collaboration in the future.”
