The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced a temporary closure of one lane of north bound Al Shamal Road at Al Gharrafa Bridge (known as Immigration Bridge) from Tuesday for three weeks. The closures is to allow carry out emergency repairs on the bridge and it is implemented in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic. During the closure, the number of lanes on Al Gharrafa Bridge will be reduced from three to two lanes for those heading from Doha to the north using 22 February Street.

Ashghal has advised all road users to use the alternative routes to avoid congestion that might be witnesses at Al Gharrafa Interchange, as shown in the attached map. Ashghal will install road signs advising motorists of the temporary closure and requests all road users to abide by the specified speed limit of the alternative routes and follow road signs to ensure their safety.
