Virtuocity, Qatar’s premier gaming and e-Sports venue, has partnered with Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) for its ‘Summer in Qatar (SiQ)’ programme and is hosting a Gaming Festival (from June 20 to August 10) with players competing for cash prizes of QR60,000.  
Located within Doha Festival City, the Gaming Festival brings world-class digital gaming experiences to Qatar, with HADO’s augmented reality sporting experiences and mobile e-sport gaming. 
Players and fans are stepping into a virtual world, beginning June 20-21, with the Racer and Enigma Tournaments. Aficionados can browse the artists’ gallery, where local talent will be on display, along with novel gaming and anime collectibles. Budding singers can take the mic at karaoke night (June 27-28) with songs from anime films and cartoons. 
The gaming will begin in earnest from July 5 with Fighting Games Tournament (FGC), followed by an Overwatch Tournament (July 12-13), CS:GO Tournament (July 19-20) and FIFA Tournament (July 26-27). 
The semi-finals and finals for all three will take place from August 8-10. The festivities will include a Cosplay Parade on August 8 and competition on August 9, with closing ceremonies on August 10. Virtuocity boasts 4,500sq m of space, and this SiQ, offers a mobile e-sport gaming area, meet and greets with influencers, partner booths, Qatar e-sport tournaments, workshops and more. 
Through leveraging venues and events such as this, QNTC strives to develop offerings catering to all interests, and promoting Qatar as a venue for hosting large e-sports tournaments.  SiQ, running between June 4 and August 16, is part of QNTC’s strategy to develop Qatar as a year-round family friendly destination. 
With partner organisations in retail, hospitality, entertainment and culture, SiQ is introducing a range of exciting indoor and outdoor experiences, along with entertainment programmes featuring local, regional and international artistes, edutainment, summer and sports camps.
