*FM holds talks with Romanian leaders

HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani on Thursday met Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dancila and the country's Foreign Minister Teodor Melescanu, during his current visit to Romania.
During his meeting with Prime Minister Dancila, bilateral relations and the means of developing them, in addition to issues of mutual interest were reviewed.
Addressing a joint press conference with the Romanian Foreign Minister following a talks session, HE Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani said Qatar views Romania as a booming economy. 
"We have great confidence that there will be results and benefits for the two countries," he said.
He said that during their meeting, the two sides discussed means of enhancing bilateral relations and boosting co-operation between Qatar and Romania, especially in the field of investment and trade, as well as the importance of co-operation in international organisations and the continuous co-ordination and communication between the two countries.
The foreign minister added that both sides discussed co-operation in various fields and sectors such as energy, the Qatar 2022 World Cup projects, education and culture.
He stressed that the meetings will continue between the two sides to consider mutual opportunities.
On the Gulf crisis, the foreign minister reiterated Qatar's position calling for resolving it through constructive and unconditional dialogue.
On the targeting of ships in the Gulf region, he stressed the condemnation of Qatar, and said considered it harmful to the energy security and the security of not only the Gulf region, but the entire world.
The foreign minister pointed out that the position of Qatar is consistent, in that crises must be resolved by constructive dialogue.
He added that Iran is a neighbouring country in the Gulf region. Although there are political differences between Iran and some Gulf countries, these must be considered constructively, calling for dialogue and negotiations to end such differences.
He stressed the need for peaceful coexistence between the Gulf states and Iran, adding that the change of geography is not in the hands of any country, adding that Iran is geographically close all the states in the region.
The foreign minister urged the international community to resolve the differences and escalation between the United States and Iran through dialogue in order to avoid the impact of the crisis on the Gulf region and its security.
He stressed the need to find a just solution in the Middle East, which is fair to the Palestinian people, based on the two states and the resolutions of international legitimacy, and stressed that Qatar supports all efforts in this direction to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.
