The Khaan Quest 2019 exercise started in Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar on Wednesday in the presence of Mongolia's President Khaltmaagiin Battulga. 
The Qatari Armed Forces are participating in the exercise, which will continue until June 28, alongside 47 countries from around the world, QNA has reported.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Deputy Chief of Staff for Education and Training at the Qatari Armed Forces, Major General Hamad Ahmed al-Nuaimi, and Brigadier General Mohamed al-Thawadi of the Armed Forces.




The ceremony was also attended by the Commander of the US Indo-Pacific Command Navy, Adm Phil Davidson; member of Parliament, member of the government and Minister of Defence of Mongolia, Ganbat A, as well as a number of senior officers and guests from other countries.
The exercise is considered an important one that aims to prepare the participating officers and personnel for peacekeeping operations.
