The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced a temporary shift of lanes on the Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor in both directions between the Al Waab intersection and Lekhwiya roundabout from tomorrow for one and a half months.
The closure will be carried out to facilitate construction works on the Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor, Ashghal has said in a statement.
Road users can use a parallel alternative road to the Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor, which has two lanes in each direction instead of three, the statement notes.
Access to Al Thanya Street will be shifted to a new roundabout to the south. Road users heading north to the Al Soudan area will use the new service road.
Ashghal will instal road signs advising motorists of the traffic shift and requested all road users to abide by the speed limit and follow road signs to ensure their safety.
