*MSC conference to accompany QITCOM from Oct 29 to Nov 1

Under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Doha will host the Munich Security Conference ( MSC) Core Group Meeting, which will accompany the Qatar IT Conference and Exhibition (QITCOM) organised by the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) from October 29 to November 1 at the Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC). 
The MSC Core Group Meeting will bring together high-profile representatives of governments, international organisations, business, militaries and academia  to discuss regional and global security issues.
The 4-day Qatar IT Conference and Exhibition is a unique platform for policymakers, technology providers and major companies specialised in smart city solutions to discuss smart city security challenges and related regional initiatives. Some global firms will also present creative ideas and strategies on universal cybersecurity.
Under the theme “Safe, Smart Cities”, the event is now in its fifth edition and has emerged as one of the top tech events regionally. It will host more than 90 international, regional and local speakers to discuss several key topics and trends in the ICT industry such as creativity, entrepreneurship and the deployment of tech solutions in building smart cities with cutting-edge cybersecurity technologies.
The event is also a key platform for interaction and dialogue between senior government officials, business leaders, academics, innovators and investors from around the world to exchange views and knowledge on sustainable economic development through technological innovation.
This year’s edition is especially unique, featuring wide international participation, creative and informative presentations, events, competitions and activities aiming at empowering entrepreneurs and SMEs. It is also a place for business networking and funding programmes.
In an area of 25,000 sqm, QITCOM 2019 is expected to attract some 30,000 visitors, 300 international and local exhibitors, 100 local and international startups and over 300 innovators and entrepreneurs.
The Qatar IT Conference and Exhibition is one of MOTC’s initiatives that aims to further develop Qatar’s ICT sector with a view to supporting development agenda across other economic sectors thanks to the ICT sector’s potential to drive significant change in economic growth rates and sustainable development in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 toward a knowledge-based economy.
