As part of Qatar-India Year of Culture-2019, the embassy of India together with ‘Utkalika’, an Indian community organisation, will be organising “Odisha - The Soul of Incredible India”, a cultural event on June 13 and 14, at Abdul Aziz Nasser Theatre, Souq Waqif, Doha.
The event will have an array of classical dances, contemporary performances, sand animation art and a special musical composition to showcase the cultural richness of Odisha.
The performance will also include ‘A Tribute to the Motherland’, an inspiring treatise - paying tribute through a patriotic classical dance; ‘Two Great Nations’, a colourful representation of the national colours of India and Qatar, exquisitely choreographed by using simple props which will be a spectacular treat to the audience; ‘Flute Composition – Only You’, a creative and soothing fusion composition highlighting the musical possibilities of the flute – the masterpiece is based on Raag Bhimpalas, Dhani; ‘Sand Art -A Journey : Qatar and India’, an exclusive sand animation art showcasing the masterpiece sculptures of India and Qatar live on stage.
‘Savour of the folk dances’ will present the folk dances of Odisha with the beat of drums, the lilting songs, the spectacular and graceful body stances offer a visual delight for the spectators. The team will perform Dalkhai, Rasarkeli and Chutkuchuta originating from the western parts of Odisha. ‘Magical Epic – Dasavatar’, involves storytelling through a dance performance, the central idea is eternal celebration of the triumph of good over evil.
Celebrity performers from India will present the cultural extravaganza.     Saswat Joshi and team from Lasyakala will be performing the classical Odissi dance. Saswat has been an exponent of Padma Vibhusan Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra. 
The Prince Dance troupe of “India’s Got Talent” fame, an internationally recognised Indian dance troupe led by T Krishna Mohan Reddy will be performing at the event. The group will present contemporary dances. The troupe had performed during the inaugural ceremony of Commonwealth Games, Delhi in 2010.
A P Pattanaik, renowned flutist will render special musical compositions at the event. He has been representing India in many cultural meets, organising solo concerts / workshops on Indian Music in America and many European nations. 
Manas Kumar Sahoo, a sand art artist, will be enacting “Sand Art -A Journey : Qatar and India”. Sand animation had always been a solo performance until Manas Kumar Sahoo, for the first time, successfully used group effort in his art work. 
The Indian embassy invites all to the event, showcasing cultural richness of Odisha.
