The Qatar Met department has forecast “very hot” daytime conditions on Monday, with the maximum temperature expected to touch 48C in Al Khor.

In a report on Sunday, the weather office said slight dust is also likely in some places on Monday.

The forecast also says it will be misty in some offshore areas in the early hours on Monday, followed by fine conditions.

Al Khor is expected to have a maximum temperature of 48C on Monday, which will be 2C higher than Sunday’s 46C. Doha and Abu Samra are likely to be next with a high of 47C, followed by Wakrah and Mesaieed with 44C, Dukhan with 43C and Ruwais with 40C.

Sunday, a maximum of 47C was recorded in the Qatar University area, Abu Hamour, Sheehaniyah, Batna and Turayna, while Doha (airport area), Ghuwairiyah, Karana and Jumayliyah saw a high of 46C, Abu Samra 45C, the Hamad International Airport area and Mesaieed 44C, and Wakrah 43C.
