Under the umbrella of its humanitarian and continuous commitment to Qatari society, Al Khalij Commercial Bank (Al Khaliji), has announced its donation support of the Qatar Cancer Society (QCS), a non-profit organisation working under the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities, toward awareness around cancer and cancer prevention in Qatar.
Nawaf Telfat, the bank’s head of SMEs (small-to-medium enterprises), presented a cheque to Ammar al-Mashhadani, head of Public Relation Department, QCS.
The donation funds were raised through a campaign launched by Al Khaliji during Ramadan, strengthening the bank’s social bonds with and rallying customers behind its charitable work in the spirit of the holy month.
Commenting on this initiative, Telfat, said: “We are immensely proud to be supporting QCS under our corporate social responsibility programme and more so, under our commitment to demonstrating our loyalty to our nation and local community”.
QCS pledges to work toward raising public awareness, preventing and curing cancer through research, education, communication and collaboration. Through its programmes and services, the society’s public awareness efforts centre on causes, preventive measures, potential treatments, and early diagnosis for the illness in Qatar. Other services it extends include the provision of treatments for resident patients with limited financial means for cancer treatment.
Al Khaliji’s initiative falls under the umbrella of the bank’s continuous efforts in support of the local community.
