Nord Anglia Education has announced that it is expanding in Qatar “due to the ongoing success” of Compass International School Doha.
The current three campuses in Madinat Khalifa, Gharafa and Rayyan will expand to include Themaid Campus, which is currently accepting admissions for the 2019/2020 academic year, it has said in a press statement.
“The new state-of-the-art, purpose-built campus will offer students an exceptional learning environment - from its well-equipped science laboratories and theatre to the 25m swimming pool and specialist areas for design, technology and music,” the statement notes.
The campus will accept students from Early Years through to Year 10 for the 2019/2020 academic year, offering the International Primary Curriculum, English National Curriculum and IGCSEs. In the coming years, the campus will also accommodate A levels as well as other vocational programmes (BTEC).
The main language at Themaid Campus will be English, with Arabic classes available for native Arabic speakers and for international students as a foreign language.
Nord Anglia Education, with 61 schools across 28 countries, has collaborations with world-renowned institutions such as The Juilliard School and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), which “offer students a wealth of innovative curricular experiences and help children connect with their future”.
Through a collaboration with Unicef, students are encouraged to research, develop and debate solutions to the challenges facing society.
Dr Terry Creissen, executive principal, said: “At Compass International School Doha, our philosophy is ‘Be Ambitious’ and our new state-of-the-art campus, Themaid, demonstrates our ambition. We look forward to building on our 12 years of academic excellence in Qatar and allowing our unique collaborations with Juilliard, MIT and Unicef to grow. Themaid Campus is an opportunity for students to be inspired by the world of learning in purpose-built facilities.”
