Al Shamal Municipality has put in place a comprehensive plan to prepare for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holidays, which includes inspection tours to detect violations of food safety and public hygiene regulations.
The plan involves two shifts of inspection tours across all key areas in the municipality, with inspectors working throughout the Eid period from 5am until 5pm daily, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) has said in a statement.
The initiative also includes constant inspection and supervision by municipal veterinarians at the slaughterhouse and fish market, in addition to poultry shops.
In addition, inspection tours will have a special focus on cafeterias, restaurants and supermarkets.
The gardens section also has taken the necessary measures to ensure the readiness of public parks to receive the public during the Eid holidays.
Similarly, Al Sheehaniya Municipality’s public gardens and parks are getting ready to welcome visitors during the Eid period and offer the best possible public services, the statement notes.
Meanwhile, Al Daayen Municipality’s Health Control inspectors have conducted an evening inspection tour at various restaurants, cafeterias and other food outlets there to ensure the safety and health of food offered to the public.
