The 40th Annual Telly Awards has honoured AJ+ with 18 awards in different categories for several of its stories, of which two are Gold, seven Silver, and nine bronze.
Among the winners are Direct From with Dena Takruri, which picked up two Gold Telly Awards for its stories Canada’s Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Nabi Saleh; In Real Life, a show presented by Yara Elmjouie that explores the intersection of food and social justice, for its stories Why You MUST Try Native American Cuisine and Why Do People Freak Out About MSG in Chinese Food?.
Other AJ+ stories that were honoured were Macedonia’s Fake News Factories and the series Rise of the Robots.
“AJ+ keeps pushing boundaries both within the industry and inwards. We were awarded in 11 different categories, such as documentary, news and information, food and beverage, craft-editing and more,” said Dima Khatib, managing director of AJ+ Channels. “This reflects the versatility and innovation of our brand and the talent of our producers, editors and artists. Along with AJ+, other top organisations honoured at this year’s edition of the Telly Awards were ESPN, CBS, AETN, CNN, HBO Latin America, and PBS.
The Telly Awards honours video and television made for all screens and is judged by the Telly Award Judging Council.
