The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) is gearing up for Eid al-Fitr celebrations, by offering a variety of activities to make it a hotspot during Eid.
The festivities are tailored to cover all age-groups and to suit families, especially the children, for whom a playground consisting of many games for entertainment and activities has been dedicated along the Katara corniche starting at 5pm.
Eid gifts and money will also be distributed to the children as is customary during every Eid to spread happiness among them.
In addition, the Al Thuraya Planetarium located in Katara will screen three movies on the second day of Eid, about space and a journey in a space shuttle and the fascinating 3D show, "Dawn in the Space Shuttle" at different timings. At 5pm and 7pm it will be screened in English and at 6pm it will be in Arabic.
Theatre lovers can also enjoy an amazing play, "The Cake Vendor" right through the Eid days, starting at 5pm on the first day of Eid, and at 5pm and 7pm on the following days until June 9.
The festivities will conclude with fireworks at 8pm. The Katara beach will also be open daily from 7am, offering different water sports for the visitors.
