The education ministry has a plan to establish additional schools in Al Khor and surrounding areas, HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali al-Hammadi has announced.
Dr al-Hammadi made the announcement yesterday as he held a meeting with the teachers of Al Khor preparatory and secondary schools for girls. 
The minister said the expansion plan includes the establishment of schools for all stages in the Al Daayen area to serve the city of Al Khor and surrounding cities.
During his interaction with the teachers at the Al Khor preparatory and secondary schools for girls, the minister 
discussed with them the situation of education in the country, how to fill vacancies in schools, and the reasons that led to the formulation of experimental curricula that are under revision in partnership with schools and society.
The minister stressed that the policies related to education, schools and school curricula are primarily for the benefit of the students, the focus of the educational process.
This calls for co-operation between all parties to the educational process in order to ensure the success and excellence of students, the minister added.
The minister said that it is important for teachers to benefit from the use of curricula and focus on competencies, and touched on the role of teacher in using information through seminars to encourage students to research.
The minister discussed various educational issues, including the school days, the burdens associated with the teaching profession, staying away from unimportant and non-required work, the completion of administrative studies in schools, and the allocation of training workshops on the needs of each teacher according to their performance assessment and professional development plan.
