Sporting events, football and basketball matches marked the conclusion of the eighth edition of Ashghal’s Ramadan Tournament for Football and Accompanying Games.  
Qatar Club hosted the final football match between President’s Office team and Petroserv team, which was won by the latter. Al Jaber and Makhlouf won the final basketball match against the CCC team. The final matches were attended by a large number of Ashghal officials and representatives of various companies.
The event witnessed participation of all Ashghal departments and 16 Ashghal contractors in seven different competitions. The items included football, billiards, table tennis, cycling and playstation. The event was held to allow employees and officials to participate in the tournaments and exercise during Ramadan. Ashghal President Saad bin Ahmad al-Muhannadi expressed his happiness with final day’s attendance. 
The president pointed out that the tournament could reunite Ashghal employees and employees of companies that collaborate with Ashghal in the holy month of Ramadan. 
“Participation of all departments, employees and contractors have made Ramadan Tournament a great opportunity to get together. A number of sports championships that are held as part of the event ensures reunion among all members,” he said .
“Competitions including football, basketball, table tennis, billiards and playstation have helped Ashghal meet the wishes of all employees and work in a team spirit,” he said.
Ashghal’s Public Relations Manager Abdulla Saad al-Saad expressed his pride in the success of the event and said the eighth edition of the event is a major success. He thanked all those who supported the tournament such as Qatar Club and Omar Bin Al Khattab School which hosted a number of competitions. 
Ashghal’s Public Relations Assistant Manager and Ramadan tournament official Mohamed Talib Ballan said this year’s tournament met the expectations in terms of participation and performance. In table tennis competition, Islam Nashat was crowned while Barbahakar Kumar was the runner-up. In billiard competition, Rodney Marcel won the tournament while Samir Wahid was the runner-up.
In playstation competition, Iyad al-Haj Ahmed won first place while Mazin al-Amin secured second place. Victor Miguel won cycling competition while Pedro Garcia was the runner-up. The Ashghal president also honoured Qatar Club president HE Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani, as well as veteran players and participating companies and gave them tournament shields. In the football tournament, Siddiq Mohamed from the President’s Office team won the best player award while Magdi Mohamed from QPMC team became top scorer with 15 goals. 
The best goalkeeper was from Petroserv while Khalid Saif al-Khayareen, Drainage Network Project Department manager, was selected as the best manager. In the basketball championship, Dareli Reyes of Al Jaber and Makhlouf won the tournament’s top scorer award and Gokalp Kara of Tekfeninsaat was selected as the best coach. 
A friendly match was held between Al Khor Road team with the participation of Ashghal president and the team of Al Majd Road that included directors of affairs and departments.
